We live in a world where we are told that we need to take advantage of others, use the government for as much as we can squeeze out of it. It is all about me, and not about others. Lie, steal, cheat, and take advantage of our neighbors.
Why is it like this? Why do we follow the "natural man?"
Yesterday at church we sang my favorite hymn, "Have I done any Good in the World Today?" This hymn teaches us not to be self centered. It also teaches us that there is much that we can and must to help ourselves, and also help others. Here are the lyrics for them:

Yesterday at church we sang my favorite hymn, "Have I done any Good in the World Today?" This hymn teaches us not to be self centered. It also teaches us that there is much that we can and must to help ourselves, and also help others. Here are the lyrics for them:
Have I done any good in the world today?
Have I helped anyone in need?
Have I cheered up the sad and made someone feel glad?
If not, I have failed indeed.
Has anyone's burden been lighter today
Because I was willing to share?
Have the sick and the weary been helped on their way?
When they needed my help was I there?
Then wake up and do something more
Than dream of your mansion above.
Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.
There are chances for work all around just now,
Opportunities right in our way.
Do not let them pass by, saying, "Sometime I'll try,"
But go and do something today.
'Tis noble of man to work and to give;
Love's labor has merit alone.
Only he who does something helps others to live.
To God each good work will be known.
Then wake up and do something more
Than dream of your mansion above.
Doing good is a pleasure, a joy beyond measure,
A blessing of duty and love.
This is hymn always brings a smile to my face, and boosts my confidence! It teaches me that anything is possible, and that we are to help our fellow beings in all that we can! The Lord showed us by example that we are to treat others as if they were Him. In the chapter of Matthew 25 it states the following:
35 For I was an a hungred, and ye b gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a c stranger, and ye took me in:
37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have a done it unto one of the b least of these my c brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Christ needs our help, are you willing to give Him your service? Have you done any good today?
