How Are You Sharing Your Testimony to the World?

Proclaiming the gospel can be a difficult thing to do, but with the advancements in technology, we are better able to share our beliefs with almost anyone in the world. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has set up a website in which helps us share our testimonies on social media. The #ShareGoodness site teaches us and shows us how we can simply share the gospel and how it is important to us. Sharing our testimonies doesn’t have to be a complicated task.

When we take a look at lds.org, we are able to find much great content to share. There are photos available to use, videos to share, great articles, and of course, there are the conference talks. The list of things to share from lds.org is countless!

The church also has a wonderful daily subscription service which you can get Daily Messages. Here there are 5 different channels which you can subscribe to Email, Twitter, RSS Feed, Facebook, and Google+. As humans, we are very forgetful, and getting these daily reminders is what we all need to keep Christ in our daily lives.

The church has hosted many events, one of this is the Face to Face events. Even those these events are geared towards certain age groups, everyone can enjoy and learn more about our relationship with God. There have been 8 of these events, all of which you can watch again and share your favorite parts! Here they are David Archuleta, Lindsey Stirling, Elder and Sister Bednar, The Piano Guys, Elder Rasband, Elder Holland, Studio C, and President Eyring with Elder Holland in New York.

When we do our family history we become filled with the spirit of Elijah, but how do we share this spirit with others? The church has created an app where we can share memories from your family history. The FamilySearch Memories App is available for both Android and Apple.

While we study conference talks we can share our favorite quotes. Every talk is packed with some amazing quotes, many of which put our beliefs into simple terms. If you would like to see an example of how you can share these quotes you can check out my Instagram feed.

The church has many social media pages, all of which I highly recommend following. Many of the First Presidency and Quorum of the 12 Apostles share some wonderful posts, all which are faith building.

The church started some few years ago the “I’m a Mormon campaign,” where they created some videos of members of the church and how living the gospel has blessed their lives. These videos are uplifting and great to share. You can also create your own profile on mormon.org, answer questions about your belief and share personal stories from your life.

The LDS Youth website has some great testimony building articles. Here we can comment, share our testimonies and share our experiences at the bottom of each article. We also can share the articles we enjoy onto Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or through email.

“There are times when the Lord reveals to us things that are intended only for us. Nevertheless, in many, many cases He entrusts a testimony of the truth to those who will share it with others.”

When we take the time to share our testimony of the gospel of Christ, we gain a greater understanding of the gospel, we are filled with the joy of God and receive more love toward ourselves and our neighbors.

5 Way to Show Our Love for God

"Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like, unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets." All Christians have heard these verse of scriptures, but how many actually follow these two commandments? We should all know that Christ has said that "If ye love me, keep my commandments." So we should know how to follow the first great commandment, but how do we follow the second one? How do we love our neighbor? How do we love our neighbor when our neighbor doesn't love us? How do we love our neighbor when they believe in something we don't? I say in order for us to love our neighbor we must learn how to follow the second part of the second greatest commandment. Let's look at it another time, "Tho...

How Did They Know?

Growing up in an LDS family was just like growing up in most non-LDS families. Sometimes we got along with our siblings, other times we wanted to kill them. Sometimes we loved our parents, other times we thought they were aliens from a different planet. One thing which made us stand out from the crowd is our weekly three-hour worship at church on Sundays. I always enjoyed going to church, I had a lot of friends there. During my teenage years, I noticed that something about church bugged me, something which now looking back I am so glad it bugged me. Once a month at church we have what is called a “testimony meeting.” For those who don’t know what that is, it is where anyone in the congregation can go up to the podium and share what they believe in. A lot of people use the term “I know this is true.” This line is what bugged me the most. How could anyone know if any of this is true? How could they know if the Book of Mormon is true? How could they know if Joseph Smith was a prop...

The Power of Everyday Missionaries-Chapters 1 & 2

So far this book is amazing, after just reading the first 2 chapters I am wishing I would have known this stuff before my mission. The first chapter is about not judging people. And when I say judging people, I mean not trying to predict who is ready to receive the gospel. We might think that Jane, that lady who has the best family values, and already follows the Word of Wisdom, is the most ready to receive the gospel. Just as we shouldn't think that Jim, the guy who is always yelling at his wife, and smokes up a storm, is no where ready to listen to missionaries. The truth is, we don't know, the only one who does is God. Clayton talks about how we need to share the gospel to everyone, we will never figure out who is ready without asking them. Some of us don't know how to even bring up the gospel in our conversations with others. Or your like me and am scared to death to even talk to people about religion. In chapter 2 this is exactly what Clayton talks about. He tells ...
